Michael Perkola joins Tranquil Heart

Please join us in welcoming Michael to Tranquil Heart Yoga. He will begin teaching here every Sunday beginning May 18 as follows:

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Vinyasa Yoga

3:15 pm – 4:15 pm – Restorative Class

4:30 pm – 5:30 pm – Meditation

About Michael

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Michael Perkola is joining our teaching staff at Tranquil Heart Yoga. Michael is highly energetic and very well experienced in yoga instructions and meditation.

He has sought self-awareness and self-mastery through meditation and martial arts since his teenage years. Now in his thirties, meditation plus yoga have become his chosen methods of integrating and strengthening the body, mind, and spirit. He finds robust health and deep meaning through these practices. His students can expect to cultivate self-awareness, health, and longevity.

Michael earned his Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour certification in Baptiste Power Yoga in early 2012. He continues to advance his yoga practice and instruction by studying therapeutic yoga (Pralaya Yoga System) and Ashtanga Yoga. Michael is Houston native with experience living in Tokyo, Japan.

Meditation

Michael’s meditation class is for those who are seeking to establish and maintain a regular meditation practice. He will provide techniques and guidance while the entire membership of the class will provide mutual support. The class begins with self-introductions. The teacher will present the topic of the evening, then all attending will meditate for around 30 minutes. Practice is followed by open discussion until the end of class. This class is suitable for those new to meditation as well as experienced practitioners.

 

Tranquil Heart Yoga

Our amazing instructors draw from many traditions including Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Thai Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and the yogic and meditation traditions of Tibet. With this vast knowledge of the yoga tradition and the intrinsic understanding of the human body, our instructors will guide you through a practice that is not only physically challenging, but also mentally stimulating and emotionally uplifting.
