Which Class is Right for You?

There are so many different styles of Yoga that choosing one just right for you can be daunting. At Tranquil Heart Yoga, we have simplified the process so that you can quickly and easily identify the type of class that is best suited for your needs.

YOGA ACTIVE

These classes are perfect for any level student who has no major physical limitations, and anyone who wants to move through sequences at a faster, yet gentle and conscious pace. These are great classes for beginners, as well as for those who wish to strengthen their ongoing yoga practice.

For those with severe mobility issues, or any major medical conditions, these classes may not be the best fit. That is why we have developed…

YOGA THERAPY

Whereas our YOGA ACTIVE classes are great for strengthening and addressing muscle tissue, our YOGA THERAPY classes address the surrounding tissues called fascia. These classes are slower paced, and typically address specific areas based on the students’ needs.

If you have mobility issues, are pregnant, or just need a chance to down-regulate the autonomic nervous system (in other words chill-out) these are the classes for you. Did your doctor recommend yoga for a particular issue? These are the classes best suited to address those concerns.

YOGA FOCUS

An exciting addition to our schedule. Aside from our continuing FOCUS classes spotlighting Bellies/Backs and Core/Hips, we have a very special class series called FOUNDATIONS. In these classes, students discover the inner workings of the yoga practice and its effects, by diving deeper into anatomy, physiology, and yoga philosophy.

These classes are usually presented as workshops and available only to those who pay a premium. But here at Tranquil Heart Yoga in West Houston, they are included in the cost of the membership.

Tranquil Heart Yoga

Our amazing instructors draw from many traditions including Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Thai Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and the yogic and meditation traditions of Tibet. With this vast knowledge of the yoga tradition and the intrinsic understanding of the human body, our instructors will guide you through a practice that is not only physically challenging, but also mentally stimulating and emotionally uplifting.
